In 2015 at 19 she released her debut single Here. It received a lot of praise as well from critics and listeners. The single peaked at the number 19 spot on both the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the track as one of the year's Top Songs. In the year she also released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of the five original songs that reached the charts of Billboard. The song was unique because lots of people reacted to her interview with rapper Rap-Up regarding her struggles in learning to love and be her. Cara's music has been praised for the messages it conveys of kindness, self-love and mental health. Her music is derived directly from her struggles with mental illness and insomnia. In a conversation with Reuters, she declared her album "half chaotic" as well as "half perfected". Therapy has helped her develop and encourages other artists to follow the same path. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician was born in Canada on 11 July 1996, is a daughter of Italian descent parents. The parents of her gave her an instrument at only 10 years old. This ignited her love for music. She began to cover songs that she liked at the age of 13 in order to show that world that she had the talent and courage that was required to become a performer. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was what made her stand out. EP Entertainment gave her the chance to write and compose her own music.
